Biography of Dr Sean Nicklin
Dr Nicklin is an Australian and British trained Plastic Surgeon with a private practice in Randwick in Sydney's East. Specialising in restorative and reconstructive surgery of the breast, hand and body, when not in his private practice he enjoy’s a variety of leadership and teaching roles
Dr Nicklin is the Director of Plastic Surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital, and is a Plastic Surgery Consultant for Hand Surgery at Sydney Hospital. He provides a Breast reconstruction service at the Royal Hospital for Women and a service for children with congenital deformities at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, and is actively involved in surgery education and research.
Dr Nicklin was born and trained as a Doctor and Surgeon in the UK, and was admitted to both the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1996, after which time he transferred to Sydney to complete his final 6 years of plastic surgery training and became a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2005.
In addition to his clinical work he has an ongoing interest in Plastic Surgery Education and Research. He is Chairman of the NSW Plastic Surgery training Committee which gives him responsibility for the quality and training of future Plastic Surgeons. He’s also a Clinical Lecturer at Sydney University.
In the years leading up to taking the role of Director of Plastic Surgery at the Prince of Wales he was also Director of Hand Surgery at Sydney Hospital.
